URÁN TOUR # Day: 1 Arrive that day at the park offices in San Gerardo de Rivas before 3:00 pm for the registration process and informative talk. Next, you will go to Herradura de Rivas, where you can enjoy a delicious homemade dinner, then move on to a cabin where you will stay the first night. Day: 2 We wake up at 3:30 am, breakfast will be served at 4:00 am. Later, a car will take us to the entrance of the trail where we will begin walking at 5:00 am. The distance of the walk is 14.5 km, to the Paso de los Indios shelter. Upon reaching that point, lunch will be prepared and dinner will be served at 7:00 pm. Day: 3 This day starts at 2:30 am to leave at 3:00 am, with the aim of seeing the wonderful sunrise at Cerro Uran. This day is the most demanding with a distance of 22.5 km and an elevation of 3660 M.A.S.L., during the tour you will be able to see an impressive view of the mountain range. After reaching the summit, you will return to the Paso de los Indios shelter for a well-deserved breakfast. After that, you will begin the return to the town, where you will be able to bathe and enjoy a well-deserved lunch. INCLUDES Certified guide, PNCH Admissions, lodging outside and inside the park, visit to farms, food: Day 1: Dinner. Day 2: Breakfast and snack, lunch and dinner. Day 3: Breakfast, lunch back in town.

Important No refunds are made if the reservation in the Chirripó National Park has already been processed. RECOMMENDATIONS Be in active physical condition, not suffer from any respiratory disease, you must also wear a headlamp, poncho, gloves, hat, cap, light coat, thick coat, scarf, water bottle of at least 2 liters, mountaineering clothing, donkey shoes preferably against water, extra shoes for the night or sandals, repellent and sunscreen. -Porters for personal luggage, this service is optional, but it is highly recommended to use it due to the technical level of the route. Due to the distances to be traveled and the safety of the porters, there are no one-day options for this service. Each porter transports 12 kilos and a maximum of 3 extra kilos with an additional cost of ₡3700 kilo. The service is authorized in the Use Permit given by the SINAC to be developed on the first day to Paso de los Indios and the second day back to Herradura with equipment not necessary to continue to Base Crestones, except in emergency situations that the Guide in charge will assess, if required by the visitor, sending any equipment to Base Crestones must be coordinated via traditional means through San Gerardo de Rivas. Due to the physical effort required to do this tour, it is NOT recommended.

Pregnant women or people with severe obesity, asthma, diabetes or hypertension problems. This tour is classified as a high level, physically very demanding, we recommend that people who take it prepare adequately by doing as much previous walking and physical activity as possible. For the Guide in charge, the first priority is the safety of the people. If necessary, the guide will assess the possibility of aborting the trip due to adverse weather conditions, accidents, emergencies of an institutional nature (for example, forest fires or natural phenomena), health problems of one or more members of the group, poor physical preparation of one or more members of the group, any special situation that prevents one or more members of the group from continuing. If a situation such as those mentioned above occurs and you are unable to complete the entire route, the Guide will proceed with the complete return of the group to Herradura de Rivas, without this implying the refund of any money paid for the tour.
